Queenslanders had their first look and ‘test drive’ of BBQ on Q at the 2010 Spring Home Show held in Brisbane during 1-5 Sept. A very warm public reception sparked a great deal of interest in the new unique product - the remote control pop up BBQ. Many visitors flocked to the stand saying that they had come to the show just to see it.

Here is a sample of what people had to say about it.

“Wow! I love it. Great Idea.”

“Fantastic!  Fantastic I love it.”

“This is the best thing I have seen at the show. It’s my favourite.”

“Cool.  Awesome! It’s the James Bond barbie.”

During the show, the BBQ on Q was exhibited as a complete outdoor kitchen with fridge, sink and tap, hot water service and benchtop with integrated bar area creating an alfresco entertainment area for the outdoor room.

Au Revoir!  Sayonara!  Arrivederci!  Yasou!
Hasta la Vista!   See you later!!

Say Bye Bye to your BBQ.

Now there is a new Australian innovation for the great Australian icon- the bbq.

The bbq on Q is the world’s first remote control pop-up bbq. The bbq on Q is a new innovation that will change the shape of deluxe outdoor kitchen design and the experience of alfresco entertaining.

Imagine being able to hide away your bulky bbq appliance when not in use (and we’re not talking about those ugly, bulky black covers or wheeling it round the side of the house where it still seems to be in the way.)

The bbq stows securely within an outdoor bar or outdoor kitchen countertop and is raised and lowered at the touch of a remote control button.

Using premium grade stainless steel, the Australian manufactured bbq, quality remote control unit and the zinc plated mechanism are designed to last in Australia’s harsh outdoor environment.

The bbq on Q is a premium quality product designed for installation in luxury alfresco entertaining areas.

Protected from dirt and dust, the bulky bbq disappears from view when not being used. New possibilities for sleek, streamlined architectural design are now achievable for upmarket outdoor kitchens.

A variety of cabinetry and countertop surfaces can be accommodated including stone, timber, stainless steel, glass and tile for custom outdoor living spaces.

“Australians have produced some of the world’s most loved and favourite inventions including the Hills Hoist, the 2 stroke Lawnmower and the Ute. Now there is a newcomer for the backyard- the bbq on Q. It’s sure to be a favourite in anyone’s language” says the designer Mick Edmunds, Director of Neo Q.

The trend for outdoor living spaces is growing around the globe. A recent poll of Archicentre architects revealed the outdoor room is becoming increasing popular in Australian renovations. The outdoor kitchen is set to be one of the biggest growing trends. Outdoor living trends show barbecue at 70.3 %, second only in popularity to deck areas.  Source: Archicentre
